We dispatch orders Monday to Friday from 9am to 3pm (GMT). Orders placed on Friday after 3pm and on Saturday/Sunday will be dispatched on the following Monday. Orders are processed pending availability and payment verification.


Once we have confirmed your order, you'll receive an email with a tracking number to one of our delivery services.


We always do our best to ensure that your order will arrive on time without delays. Please bear in mind that we are only provided with an estimated delivery date from our shipping carriers. FREE RETURNS AND REFUNDS IN THE EU

If you’d like a different size, style or refund, please contact our Customer Services and we’ll be happy to help you.


You have one (1) month from the date of your order confirmation email to return your items. Returns outside this timeframe may be accepted at the discretion of MELIE and may only be refunded as a store credit.


How do I return my purchase?

To return an item, please follow the following steps:

1) Log into your account and under My Orders, select the order containing the items you want to return.

2) Click on the "EXCHANGE/RETURN" button and choose the reason for return. If you’d like an exchange, select your preferred size.

3) Submit your request online and we'll then send an email with further return instructions.

4) Fill in and sign the return form included in the box with your order.

5) Please send your purchase to MELIE, RUA MARIO AZEVEDO GOMES 4 2DTO, 1600-166 LISBOA, PORTUGAL.

We prefer that items are returned to us via our own service so that they are protected and insured. You can return using any secure means, but we may not accept liability. Please email us if you intend to do this and send your purchase to the above address.


Return Policy

If you’re based in the EU, there’s no cost to exchange your purchase. If you wish to try another style, simply return it for a store credit refund and purchase the new item separately. If you’re based outside the EU, unfortunately at the moment we are not accepting returns or exchanges.


All items will be reviewed individually upon return. Items must be returned to us unused and in its original conditions, with all MELIE tags and designer labels still attached. Returns that are damaged or soiled will not be accepted and will be sent back to you and a refund refused. Lingerie, swimsuits and bikini bottoms should be tried on over underwear, without removing the protective adhesive strip. Returns may not be accepted if this strip has been removed or if items are soiled, and may be sent back to you. Jewelry: Please be advised that we do not accept returns of earrings in case of hygiene and infection. Unidentified returns may be returned to the sender. Returns that do not meet our policy will be sent back to you.


Once the return has been approved, you will receive a return confirmation e-mail indicating the amount that will be credited to your account. Returns usually take 14 business days to be received and processed. When your return has been processed, a refund will be issued to your original payment method, this could take up to 5 business days.


We offer a flexible returns policy to make your online shopping experience even easier. We do monitor the number of returns made by customers and continued returns in breach of our terms and conditions will be flagged and may, at our discretion, lead to the closure of your MELIE account or future orders being refused. If this applies to your account, we will be in touch.


Goods are classified as faulty if they are not of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose or as described. Please note that items which are damaged or as a result of normal wear and tear; by accident; or through misuse will not be considered faulty. If your item is faulty when you receive it, you can return it for a refund within one (1) month from the date of your confirmation email.


We have made every effort to display the colors of our products that appear on MELIE as accurately as possible. However, as computer monitors, tablets and mobile devices vary, we cannot guarantee that your monitor's display of a color will be completely accurate.

We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Paypal, Apple Pay and Amazon Pay. Please note that cards issued by local banks which do not carry one of these logos may not be accepted by our global processing service.


You can also use a gift certificate / gift code. Each gift certificate carries a gift code you can easily enter when completing checkout. They never expire and may be combined with our promotions and special offers.


Data security and fraud protection is of utmost importance to MELIE. We partner with Stripe, a secure online payment gateway that encrypts your credit card information, contact information and shipping/billing information in a secure host environment. All orders are processed individually and may be subject to payment verification. For the protection of our customers, we want to ensure that every order that we ship out was authorized by the cardholder. By making a payment you confirm that the credit/debit card that is being used is yours or that you have been specifically authorized by the owner of the credit/debit card to use it. If your order is placed on hold, we will reach out to you as soon as possible.


You can choose to see our prices in Euro (€), USD ($), GBP (£) or AUD ($) at the top left hand side of the screen. Product prices are set using existing exchange rates. We are however limited to charge your card in Euro.

How do I make a purchase?

At MELIE, we thrive to provide our customers a seamless shopping experience. Navigate through our hand-picked selection of Designers, or click through our collection menu in CLOTHING, ACCESSORIES, BEACHWEAR and SHOES. Once you have found an item of your choice, select your size, and click on the “ADD TO CART” button on the product page. Review your order in your shopping bag by clicking the “SHOPPING BAG” icon at the top right corner of the page. Click on “PROCEED TO CHECKOUT” to complete your order.


I forgot my password. How can I recover it?

You can re-set your password in the LOG IN page by clicking “FORGOTTEN PASSWORD”. After filling in the form, you will receive an email with instructions on how to recover your password. We recommend that you always check your spam mailbox. Please note, for security reasons we are unable to send your old password via email.


How can I subscribe to the latest news, promotions and special offers?

Our teams create the most compelling editorial content with cutting-edge fashion trends which will be delivered to you through our social media and newsletters. Go to our Homepage and register your email to be notified with our newsletter. You will be able to track your orders and review past purchases, or request a return and exchange directly from your account. You can also add sold out items and products you love to your Favorites list, preview new collections and register your interest for your favorite pieces through our seasonal lookbook. It will be easier to complete your Checkout with saved addresses and credit card details. Stay tuned for new arrivals, great discounts and special offers.


Are out of stock products restocked?

If an item is sold out, we will try our best to restock it and make it available again as quickly as possible. You can subscribe for updates in the Product page by selecting your desired size and entering your email address. If not, the product will no longer be available, and it will be removed from our store.


A couple of days have passed since I made my order and I have not received anything yet. What should I do?

If your order hasn't arrived by the expected delivery date, get in touch with our Customer Services using the options below so we can help you further. We will contact you within 24-48 hours.


Where can my order be delivered?

You may receive your order in an address of your choice (home, work, etc.) by filling in the address fields at the Checkout page. You can also save your addresses in YOUR ACCOUNT page so that it will be quicker the next time you shop at MELIE.


May the delivery address be different from the address of purchase?

Your delivery address does not have to match the address of purchase.


Can I request an invoice on behalf of a company?

Yes. After completing your purchase, you can request an invoice on behalf of a company by filling in the billing and VAT details during Checkout.


I did not receive a confirmation e-mail for my order. How can I be sure that the order has been processed?

Once your order has been placed, you will receive a confirmation email. If you do not receive it, please get in touch with our Customer Services using the options below so we can help you further.


How can I follow the status of my order?

Once we have confirmed your order, you'll receive an email with a tracking number to one of our delivery services. You can also track your order on YOUR ACCOUNT page by clicking "TRACK ORDER" on the "MY ORDERS" menu.


Can I remove a product from my order?

Before your purchases have been prepared for dispatch we can amend your order, cancel an item, change the size or edit your billing and shipping details. However, we are unable to combine orders or add items to an existing order once it has been placed. If you need to make any amendments, please contact our Customer Services team using the options below.


Can I cancel my order?

If you are based in the EU under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 (ICACRs), you have the right to cancel your order with us, provided you give us written notice within 14 working days of receipt. Notice of contract cancellation under the ICACRs must be given in writing to "Notice of Contract Cancellation, MELIE, RUA MANUEL INACIO 4B, 2770-223 PACO DE ARCOS, PORTUGAL". Or by email to info@meliestore.com. For orders cancelled under the ICACRs, we will issue you with a refund for the items returned. However, you will need to return the entire order to us by secure means to ensure it reaches us in good condition, at your own cost. Cancelled orders should be returned to the above address. All items must be returned and unused in their original condition, from the original delivery destination. Refunds will be issued within 30 business days of us receiving your cancellation notice. If we do not receive the cancelled order back, we will arrange to have it collected from you at your own cost.


Can I refuse a shipment?

If you refuse a shipment from MELIE, you are responsible for the original shipping charges, any import taxes that are incurred on the package, and the cost of returning your order to MELIE. This amount will be deducted from your refund.


What should I do if I receive a faulty item?

Goods are classified as faulty if they are not of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose or as described. Please note that items which are damaged or as a result of normal wear and tear; by accident; or through misuse will not be considered faulty. If your item is faulty when you receive it, you can return it for a refund within one (1) month from the date of your confirmation email.


What should I do if I receive an incorrect item?

We always do our best to ensure that your order will arrive in perfect conditions. In the rare event that you have received an article that you did not order, or the wrong size or color has been shipped, please contact our Customer Services team and we’ll be happy to help you the best way we can.


If I request a refund, will I be refunded the full value of my order?

Your refund will either be issued to the original credit card used to place the order, or as a MELIE store credit. Please note that it can take up to 10 business days for the refund to appear in your account, from the moment we confirm your refund. While we offer FREE EXCHANGES & RETURNS within EUROPE, shipping costs on your original purchase will not be refunded, unless your items are faulty, or your order is cancelled under the ICACRs. All sales taxes are included in your refund if your order has been sent to a destination within the EU.

MELIE is a registered brand owned by NJE International Business, a company registered in Portugal. Our registered address is Rua Mario Azevedo Gomes, 4, 2D, 1500-467 Lisbon, Portugal. Our VAT number is 513503331.

The following Terms of Service (“TOS”) are a legally binding contract between you and MELIE (“we” or “us”) regarding your use of our website at www.meliestore.com along with our related websites, networks, mobile applications, and other services provided by us (collectively, the “Service”). The TOS apply to all users of our website, including and without limitation users who are browsers, vendors, customers, merchants, and/or contributors of content.

Please read the TOS carefully before accessing or using the Service. We recommend you should keep a copy of the TOS for future reference. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by the TOS together with our Privacy Policy (see section “Privacy Policy”). If you do not agree to all TOS or our Privacy Policy, then you may not access the Service.

Any new features or tools which are added to the current store shall also be subject to the TOS. You can review the most current version of the TOS at any time on this page. We reserve the right to update, change or replace any part of the TOS by posting updates and/or changes to our Service. It is your responsibility to check this page periodically for changes. Your continued use of or access to the Service following the posting of any changes constitutes acceptance of those changes.


SECTION 1 – ELIGIBILITY AND ACCOUNT REGISTRATION

By agreeing to the TOS, you must: (a) be at least 18 years old or at least the age of majority in the jurisdiction where you reside and from which you use the Services; (b) have not previously been suspended or removed from the Service; and (c) be in compliance with any and all applicable laws and regulations. If you are an entity, organization, or company, the individual accepting the TOS on your behalf represents and warrants that they have authority to bind you to the TOS and you agree to be bound by the TOS.

In order to make purchases on the Service you will be required to provide your personal details, including your name, e-mail address and other requested information as indicated. You will also be required to provide payment details that you represent and warrant are both valid and correct and you confirm that you are the person referred to in the Billing information provided. You agree that all the information you provide to us is accurate and that you will keep it accurate and up-to-date at all times. When you register, you will be asked to provide a password. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and password, and you accept responsibility for all activities that occur under Your Account. If you believe that Your Account is no longer secure, then you must immediately notify us at info@meliestore.com.


SECTION 2 – ORDERS AND PAYMENT

All orders are subject to acceptance and availability, and items in your shopping bag are not reserved and may be purchased by other customers.

MELIE offers products for sale that are in stock and available for dispatch from our Showroom. Occasionally however, we may be waiting for shipments from our designer suppliers or have products listed in our Service that are out of stock. You may choose to register your email address for notification of arrival of the selected merchandise not held in stock. If you have registered your email address for notification of the arrival of a specific product featured on our Service, we will notify you by email as soon as possible.

In the event that an item you have ordered is unavailable, we will let you know as soon as we can and, where payment has already been made, make a refund to your payment method without undue delay. We do not assume the risk of having to procure ordered merchandise elsewhere (procurement risk). We are obliged only to make deliveries from our available stock and from the stock we have ordered from our suppliers. Where we make deliveries of goods from our available stock, the goods provided will be consistent with the order made by you. We will inform you about the expected delivery time on each product detail page as well as immediately before you place an order.

You authorize MELIE to charge all sums for the orders that you make, including all applicable taxes, to the payment method specified in your account. If you pay any fees with a credit card, MELIE may seek pre-authorization of your credit card account prior to your purchase to verify that the credit card is valid and has the necessary funds or credit available to cover your purchase. If your order is placed on hold, we will reach out to you to ensure that the delays are minimal.

We reserve the right not to accept your order in the event that we are unable to obtain authorization for payment, that shipping restrictions apply to a certain item, that the item ordered is out of stock or does not satisfy our quality control standards and is withdrawn, or that you do not meet the eligibility criteria set out within the TOS.

We may also refuse to process and therefore accept a transaction for any reason or refuse service to anyone at any time at our sole discretion. We will not be liable to you or any third party by reason of our withdrawing any merchandise from the Service whether or not that merchandise has been sold, removing, screening or editing any materials or content on the Service, refusing to process a transaction or unwinding or suspending any transaction after processing has begun.

We may, in our sole discretion, limit or cancel quantities purchased per person, per household or per order. These restrictions may include orders placed by or under the same customer account, the same credit card, and/or orders that use the same billing and/or shipping address. In the event that we make a change to or cancel an order, we may attempt to notify you by contacting the e-mail and/or billing address/phone number provided at the time the order was made.

Products purchased by the buyer are for personal or gift use and should not be re-sold, used for commercial purposes or any other commercial benefit. You may not modify, copy, distribute, transmit, display, perform, reproduce, publish, license, commercially exploit, create derivative works from, transfer, data mine or sell any content, software, products, or services contained within the Service. You may not use the Service, or any of its content, to further any commercial purpose, including any advertising or advertising revenue generation activity on your own website. We reserve the right to limit or prohibit orders that, in our sole judgment, appear to be placed by dealers, re-sellers or distributors.

MELIE has partnered with third party payment processors to process payments you make via the Service. Third-party payment processor Stripe facilitates and processes some of MELIE’s orders. By choosing to place your order, you agree to Stripe’s terms and conditions which may be found at Stripe – Global Privacy Policy.

MELIE will store a record of all orders for a minimum of one year.


SECTION 3 – ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS AND TIMELINESS OF INFORMATION

We may update our Service from time to time, and may change the content at any time. However, please note that any of the content on our Service may be out of date at any given time, and we are under no obligation to update it. We do not guarantee that our Service, or any content on it, will be free from typographical errors, inaccuracies or omissions that may relate to product descriptions, pricing, promotions, offers, product shipping charges, transit times and availability. We reserve the right to correct any errors, inaccuracies or omissions, and to change or update information or cancel orders if any information in the Service or on any related website is inaccurate at any time without prior notice (including after you have submitted your order). SECTION 4 – PRICES AND SHIPPING

MELIE reserves the right to determine pricing for Products. All prices on the Service are given in Euro (€), USD ($) or GBP (£). The prices given on the Service on the date the order is placed shall apply. The stated prices are final prices (totals) and include value added tax (VAT) at the applicable statutory rate in Portugal (23%). VAT may be deducted from the final price at Checkout if you have selected a shipping address where VAT is not chargeable. All items remain our property until full payment of the purchase price.

MELIE will make reasonable efforts to keep pricing information published on the Service up to date. We encourage you to check our Service periodically for current pricing information. MELIE may change the fees for any Product at any time. MELIE, at its sole discretion, may make promotional offers with different features and different pricing to any of MELIE’s customers. These promotional offers, unless made to you, will not apply to your offer or these TOS.

Whilst every effort is made to make sure details on our website are accurate, we may from time to time discover an error in the pricing of products. If we discover an error in the pricing of a product in your order, we will let you know as soon as possible. We shall be under no obligation to accept or fulfill an order for a product that was advertised at an incorrect price and reserve the right to cancel such an order that has been accepted or is in transit. If you order a product that is priced incorrectly for any reason, we will email or telephone you to inform you that we have not accepted your order and/or that the relevant part of your order has been cancelled. If you have already paid for the goods, we shall refund the full amount as soon as we are able. In the event that products are recalled in transit, we will process your refund once the products have been returned to us.

We will list shipping charges for your order upon checkout, and you must pay all shipping charges for the location of the address you provide. Please note that international packages may be subject to duties and taxes. You must also pay all tariff, import, customs, tax, and other charges applicable in your jurisdiction. The limits for duty-free packages are established by your local customs authorities. Please check your local customs website for more information.

MELIE will attempt in good faith to deliver your items in accordance with your order, but MELIE will not be responsible or liable for any delays or failure in such delivery. MELIE expressly reserves the right to effect delivery of any order in any number of separate shipments, and the modes of transport and carriers will be decided at MELIE’s discretion. Your order will be delivered to the delivery address you specify when placing your order. If your delivery address is geographically remote or otherwise difficult to deliver to, it is possible that we may not be able to deliver there. MELIE will not be responsible or liable for any delay or failure to deliver due to any cause which is unavoidable or beyond MELIE’s reasonable control. In such cases, MELIE will have the right, at its option, without penalty or any liability for breach, to terminate all or any part of any order or to reschedule delivery within a reasonable time.


SECTION 5 – EXCHANGES AND RETURNS

If you are based in the EU under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 (ICACRs), you have the right to cancel your order with us provided you give us written notice. You have the right to cancel your order within 14 days without giving any reason. The cancellation period will expire 14 days from the day on which you (or someone you nominate, other than a carrier) receive(s) the order. To exercise the right to cancel, you must inform us by letter to "Notice of Contract Cancellation, MELIE, RUA MANUEL INACIO 4B, 2770-223 PACO DE ARCOS, PORTUGAL", or by email to: info@meliestore.com. For orders cancelled under the ICACRs, we will issue you with a full refund including the shipping cost paid by you. We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you. We will make reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than 30 days after the day we receive back from you any of the goods supplied. We will make reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of the reimbursement.

In the event that we have sent goods to you and you have cancelled your order, we may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back or you have supplied evidence of having sent the goods back, whichever is the earliest. If we do not receive the goods back, we may arrange to have them collected from you at your cost. You shall return cancelled orders to: MELIE, RUA MANUEL INACIO 4B, 2770-223 PACO DE ARCOS, PORTUGAL, without undue delay and in any event not later than 30 days from the day on which you communicate your cancellation of contract to us. The deadline is met if you send the goods before the period of 14 days has expired. You will have to bear the cost of returning the goods. You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from the handling, other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods. Please note you may only use your right to cancel the order under the ICACRs if you give us formal written notice of cancellation any time after your order has been placed, up until 14 calendar days from the day after you receive your order, by email or post as described above.

Without prejudice to your statutory right to cancel set out above, we offer you the option of returning items ordered on our Service within 30 (calendar) days of your order confirmation email. This return option allows you to return items to us, even after the 14-day cancellation period has expired. You can use the return shipping label enclosed with your order. Please contact our Customer Services if you have any problems with the return shipping label. Your exercise of this return option is limited to unworn items that you have worn/tried on only as you would have in a shop. All returned items must be returned in their original condition, intact and undamaged, and in its original packaging and containing all MELIE and designer labels. Until the period for exercising the statutory right to cancel expires, the statutory provisions governing returns shall apply exclusively. The voluntary 30 days return right does not exist for contracts subject to sealed goods which have been unsealed after delivery and which are not suitable for return due to hygienic reasons. We do not offer exchanges for returned items. If you wish to purchase a new item, please place a new order.

All intellectual property rights in our Service, and in the material published on it, are owned by MELIE and our licensors. Those works are protected by copyright laws and treaties around the world. All such rights are reserved. You may print off one copy, and may download extracts, of any page(s) from our Service for your personal use and you may draw the attention of others within your organisation to content posted on our Service. You must not modify the paper or digital copies of any materials you have printed off or downloaded in any way, and you must not use any illustrations, photographs, video or audio sequences or any graphics separately from any accompanying text. Our status (and that of any identified contributors) as the authors of content on our Service must always be acknowledged. You must not use any part of the content on our Service for commercial purposes without obtaining a licence to do so from us or our licensors. If you print off, copy or download any part of our Service in breach of the TOS, your right to use our Service will cease immediately and you must, at our option, return or destroy any copies of the materials you have made.

Certain content, products and services available via our Service may include materials from third-parties. Third-party links on our Service may direct you to third-party websites that are not affiliated with us. We are not responsible for examining or evaluating the content or accuracy and we do not warrant and will not have any liability or responsibility for any third-party materials or websites, or for any other materials, products, or services of third-parties. We are not liable for any harm or damages related to the purchase or use of goods, services, resources, content, or any other transactions made in connection with any third-party websites. Please review carefully the third-party's policies and practices and make sure you understand them before you engage in any transaction. Complaints, claims, concerns, or questions regarding third-party products should be directed to the third-party.

We may provide you with access to third-party tools over which we neither monitor nor have any control nor input. You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless MELIE and our parent, subsidiaries, affiliates, partners, officers, directors, agents, contractors, licensors, service providers, subcontractors, suppliers, interns and employees, harmless from any claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, made by any third-party due to or arising out of your breach of the TOS or the documents they incorporate by reference, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third-party.

In the event that any provision of the TOS is determined to be unlawful, void or unenforceable, such provision shall nonetheless be enforceable to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, and the unenforceable portion shall be deemed to be severed from the TOS, such determination shall not affect the validity and enforceability of any other remaining provisions.


SECTION 11 – TERMINATION

The obligations and liabilities of the parties incurred prior to the termination date shall survive the termination of this agreement for all purposes. The TOS are effective unless and until terminated by either you or us. You may terminate the TOS at any time by notifying us that you no longer wish to use our Services, or when you cease using our Services. SECTION 12 – ENTIRE AGREEMENT

If you breach the TOS and we take no action against you, we will still be entitled to use our rights and remedies in any other situation where you breach the TOS.

We take all complaints very seriously and try to resolve disputes as soon as they arise. The TOS together with all our policies and procedures will be governed by and construed in accordance to the Portuguese law. This Privacy Policy is between you and MELIE (“we” or “us”) regarding your use of our website www.meliestore.com along with our related websites, networks, mobile applications, and other services provided by us (collectively, the “Service”). What personal information do we collect from you?

We may collect your personal data to help us improve your online shopping experience. The categories of personal data that MELIE collects and processes are as follows:

  • We collect the personal data necessary to conclude and execute your purchase on our Service such as name and surname, e-mail address, shipping address, billing address, telephone number and payment details;
  • We collect your e-mail address when you sign up for our newsletter service;
  • We process your personal data when you contact our Customer Services to provide the assistance requested;
  • Upon your consent, we collect and use your personal data for marketing purposes;
  • For the registration of your MELIE account, we collect your name and surname, your e-mail address, password, your country and date of birth. If you are a registered user, we collect information about your access to the reserved part of the Service. With your express consent, by analysing your personal data we can process information regarding your interests and preferences with respect to our products and services in order to present proposals and offers in line with your tastes. In case of authentication to the MELIE account through external social networks, we collect the data necessary for registration/authentication through Facebook and Google. We also collect information about you from third parties and, in particular, from Facebook and Google. This information includes the following data categories: e-mail address;
  • We collect information about your browsing our Services, such as the pages you visit and how you interact with the single page and we save this information on our servers;
  • In the event that you provide personal data of third parties to MELIE, for example in cases where you decide to purchase a product to be delivered to a friend, or to give a gift, MELIE will arrange for the third party to deliver the Privacy Policy at the time of the first communication. We remind you that the use of personal data of third parties is subject to the discipline regarding the protection of personal data.

We inform you that MELIE does not process personal data relating to minors. If you access our Services and use the services offered by MELIE, you declare that you are of legal age.


How do we use your personal information?

MELIE collects and processes your personal data for the following purposes:

  • Complete and execute contracts for the purchase of products offered on our Service. When you make a purchase, we ask you for the personal data needed in order to execute the contract. Our activities include payment processing, anti-fraud checks if you choose to pay by credit or debit card, invoicing, product shipments and the management of returns, if applicable.

  • With your express consent, we may use the addresses provided by you to send commercial communications about our products and services, in order to update you about news, latest arrivals, exclusive products, offers and promotions. In addition, again with your consent, we may use your contact details when carrying out market research and satisfaction surveys, with a view to improving our services and our relations with users. These communications will only be made in the manner chosen by you (e-mail, text message, telephone, post, WhatsApp).
  • Solely with your consent, MELIE may customise your experience as a registered user of our Service, making early bird and other offers consistent with your tastes and sending you personalised commercial messages that address your interests. We will base this personalisation on an analysis of your previous purchases and the other information described in the previous section.

Should you no longer wish to receive messages from MELIE, or wish to restrict the manner in which you are contacted, you can block the above communications at any time by clicking on the “unsubscribe” link found at the foot of each message. You can also do this by contacting our Customer Services team.

Please note that you may receive further messages from us after submitting your unsubscribe request, as certain communications may have already been planned and our systems might take time to implement your request.

With regard to all the above activities, we will process your personal data using IT and electronic equipment; the tools used by us guarantee high levels of security, in full compliance with the relevant current regulations.


What is our legal basis for processing your personal data?

Under the Law we must have a valid reason for using your personal data and we may not collect, store or use data about you that is not compatible with that reason. There are four valid reasons for our use of your personal data:

  • Most of the data we collect from you is necessary to allow us to fulfil our contract with you or to enter into a contract with you e.g. you provide a billing address and email address when you purchase an item from our Service so that we can process your payment and send you order confirmation.
  • In certain circumstances we will ask for your permission or consent to use your personal data e.g. if we would like to send you marketing information about items we believe may be of interest to you via email. If you have given your consent to our use of your personal data, you are entitled to withdraw this consent at any time.

Who will process your data?

Your personal data will be processed by the internal staff of MELIE who have been specifically trained and authorised for this processing. In carrying out the processing, the data may also be transmitted to companies belonging to NJE International Business, to which MELIE belongs.

Your personal data will also be transmitted to third parties that we use to provide our services; these parties have been rigorously assessed and offer a guarantee of compliance with the legislation on the processing of personal data. These parties have been designated as data processors and carry out their activities according to the instructions given by MELIE and under its control.

The third parties in question belong to the following categories: banking operators, internet providers, companies specialising in IT and telematics services; couriers; companies that carry out marketing activities, including social media organisations; companies specialising in market research and data processing; companies offering contact centre services; companies providing publishing and distribution services.

When we share your personal data with our shipping carriers for the purposes of international and domestic shipments, on demand delivery and the security screening associated with these services, our shipping carriers and MELIE are both controllers of your personal data. MELIE is the controller of the personal data of its customers and our shipping carriers are the controllers of personal data provided to our shipping carriers to perform these services.

Our e-commerce data is stored by Shopify which is GDPR compliant. If you subscribed to our mailing list, your data is stored by E-goi which is also GDPR compliant. MELIE ships its orders through different carriers which are all GDPR compliant.

Under some circumstances we may be required to disclose or share your data without your consent, for example if we are required by the police, the courts or for other legal reasons. Your data may be transmitted to the police, judicial and administrative authorities, in accordance with the law, for the investigation and prosecution of crimes, the prevention of and protection from threats to public security, to allow MELIE to ascertain, exercise or defend a right in court, as well as for other reasons related to the protection of the rights and freedoms of others.

We may also transfer your personal data to a buyer or potential buyer in the event that our assets are acquired by another organisation. The purchaser will be required by law to use your personal data only as described in this Privacy Policy.


How long do we keep your data?

We keep your personal data for a limited period of time in line with our data retention policy. The specific retention period will vary according to the reason for processing your personal data. After this period, your data will be permanently erased or otherwise irreversibly rendered anonymous.

Your personal data are retained in accordance with the following criteria:

  • When you have purchased goods from our Service, we will retain the billing data until the end of the relevant accounting period, normally seven years from the billing date;
  • When you make a payment, we will retain your payment details up to the certification of the payment and the completion of the relevant administrative-accounting formalities regarding your right of withdrawal and the terms applied for the disputing of the payment;
  • When you provide us with personal data in order to use our Services, such as marketing communications subscription, we will keep your data for this purpose until the termination of the service or until you cancel your subscription to the service;

We will consider your consent to be current for five (5) years from your last interaction with any email that we send you from our Services. In any case, we will reduce the number of marketing contacts after six (6) months if you don’t interact with us;
  • When we use your personal data and browsing history to analyse your behaviour in order to customise the website and to show you personalised sales offers, we will keep the data for analytical purposes until you ask us to delete it;
  • When we use personal data for market research and satisfaction surveys, we will keep the data until you ask us to stop.

Once we receive your request, it will be our duty to promptly cease to process your personal data based on this consent, while different processing or that which is based on other assumptions will continue to be carried out in full compliance with the provisions in force.
  • Opposition to the processing of your data: you have the right to object at any time to the processing of your personal data made on the basis of our legitimate interest, explaining the reasons that justify your request; before accepting it, MELIE will have to evaluate the reasons for your request.
  • Delete your data: you may request the cancellation of your personal data in the cases provided for by current legislation. Once your request has been received and examined and if it is legitimate, it will be our duty to timely cease to process your personal data and to delete it.
  • Request of restriction of the processing: in this case, MELIE will continue to keep your personal data but will not process it, unless it is subject to your different request and the exceptions established by law. Processing of your personal data can be limited when you dispute the accuracy of your personal data, when the processing is illegal but you oppose the cancellation of your data, when we no longer need your personal data but you need to exercise your right in court and when you oppose your processing, in the period in which we evaluate the reasons for your request.
